To make my project a little more interesting, my plan is to create an interface through which it is possible to control a robotic arm, and for real time positioning to be displayed on the computer screen.

Thanks to the efforts of the developers and everyone associated with InteractiveMesh.org for creating a library for JavaFX™ 3D Model Importers, and talented 3d model designer who goes by Toomas633, who was kind enough to share his project on thingiverse. I was able to render the model withing my Java application. For simplicity I removed the motors from the model to make it easier to manage, while figuring out the animation.
